Update: Lady Cats defeat Dublin for bi-district title, to face Grape Creek


The Henrietta Lady Cats earned a bi-district title Tuesday night, sweeping Dublin.

Game Time Changed: The time for the Henrietta vs San Angelo Grape Creek area volleyball game has changed from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. The game will be played in Eastland.

Henrietta defeated Dublin for a bi-district title in the Region I Class 2A state playoffs Tuesday night in Brock. The Lady Cats swept Dublin 25-17, 25-19, 25-14.

“Feels great to be in the playoffs again and to get that first postseason victory,” said Henrietta Head Coach Rochelle Kabisch. “The goals of these girls have not been reached yet.”

Anni Scholl led the lady Cats with 10 kills and seven aces and 16 digs. Addison Wade scored eight kills, followed by Joyana Zamzow with seven kills, Sierra Burkhart had six kills and Taylor Bennett scored five kills.

Annelise Sauer finished with 11 digs and two aces, while Cassie Pickett finished with nine digs. Katie Halsell had 17 set assists and two aces. Kailey Kirk finished with 14 set assists.

The Lady Cats will face San Angelo Grape Creek in the area round at 3 p.m. Saturday in Eastland.
