Lady Cats earn playoff berth, to face Dublin in bidistrict match

In a total team effort Friday afternoon, Henrietta volleyball defeated Jacksboro in a playoff for third place and final postseason berth in District 8-2A.

The Lady Cats will face Dublin in bidistrict action at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30 in Brock.

“They are going to be pretty similar to what Jacksboro is,” said Henrietta Head Coach Rochelle Kabisch of the District 7-2A second place team.

Henrietta defeated Jacksboro in a three-set sweep, 25-14, 25-17, 25-23.

Anni Scholl led the offensive attack with 14 kills, followed by Joyana Zamzow with 11, Taylor Bennett with eight, Sierra Burkhart with seven, Addison Wade with four and Cheyenne Barry with two kills. Setter Katie Halsell had 25 assists, while Kailey Kirk finished with 13 assists.

Halsell finished with two service aces. Zamzow, Bennett, Annelise Sauer, Cassie Pickett and Kirk had one ace each.

On defense, Sauer, playing libero, finished with 17 digs, followed by Scholl with 13. Zamzow had seven digs, while Bennett, Halsell and Pickett had five each. Burkhart had four digs, followed by Barry and Kirk with two each, and Hicks and Burch with one each.
