On behalf of the residents and staff at Henrietta Care Center, our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Velma Ashton. She will be missed dearly. What an awesome lady and family member! We are blessed to have had the pleasure to get to know and love Ms. Ashton. May God comfort and be with all of you during your mourning. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your lives.

Our annual bake sale to raise money for Operation Christmas Child is Friday the 26th at 7:30 a.m. until all items are sold in front of Henrietta Pharmacy. Please help us by baking, buying or donating. This project helps children who would otherwise not get any presents have a great Christmas by sending shoeboxes of various items to the children. The shipping cost is $7 for each box we send, and we need help raising the money to get all our boxes sent. We greatly appreciate any contribution you can make- every little bit helps. We are still in need of small toys, coloring books, and tablets. If you wish to donate any of these items, you can bring them by Henrietta Care Center at anytime or you can bring them to us at our bake sale. We look forward to seeing you then!

Our resident birthday party is this Friday the 26th at 3 p.m. The VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 5401 will be here to host the party. This month will we celebrate the birthdays of Billie Jean Jones, Edna Wuensche, Mary Davis and Vinnie Sheppard.

To those who did not know, Mary Davis and her husband Bill celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary this month. What a blessing! Happy anniversary to both of you!

Henrietta Care Center (HCC) would like to thank the anonymous couple who donated candy for our residents to hand out to the trick-or-treaters on Halloween. We truly appreciate your gift, and the candy will definitely be of use to our residents. We are beyond appreciative of your thoughtfulness.

That being said, trick-or-treaters are invited to come out on Halloween from 6-8 PM. The residents really enjoy handing out candy and seeing the children in their costumes. We hope to see you then!

Thank you to Cathy Tally for volunteering at HCC. We enjoy your enthusiasm, and the residents love the opportunity to spend time with your grandchild. Ms. Tally’s grandson that comes to HCC is also Frances Coker’s great-grandson. He is so well-behaved and pleasant to be around.

We are looking forward to Saturday, Oct., 27. The First Baptist Church of Henrietta and the First Christian Church of Henrietta are hosting an ice cream social for the residents at 2:30 p.m.

We are very blessed by the churches in our community and their involvement with HCC. We thank you so much for including us in your busy schedules. Life is so much better at HCC because of you!

Have a wonderful week!
