Three plea to crimes


The 97th District Court accepted three plea agreements Monday, Oct. 15 from defendants accused of various crimes.

Joshua Ray Hogan — Possession of a controlled substance, penalty group 1, in an amount of more than 200 grams, less than 400 grams, a first degree felony, for a June 26, 2011 offense. Hogan was sentenced to 10 years in prison.

Patrick Shane Welch — Aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony, for a Feb. 11 offense. Welch was placed on community supervision for five years.

James Allen Simmons — Driving while intoxicated, third or more offense, a third-degree felony, for a Jan. 29 offense. Simmons was sentenced to eight years in prison probated for four years.
