Alton Ray ‘Bo’ Jones of Holliday


Alton Ray “Bo” Jones, 75, of Holliday, died Monday, Oct. 15, 2012 in Wichita Falls.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 18 at Falls Funeral Home Chapel in Wichita Falls with Gil Peters officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Fall Funeral Home.

Mr. Jones was born on Sept. 8, 1937 in Graham to Johnie J. and Opal (Wellman) Jones. He graduated from Holliday High School and attended Midwestern State University before joining the U.S. Navy in 1956. He was a retired Electrician and a member of the R-T ‘s Coffee Club where he enjoyed gathering with his friends and a faithful Dallas Cowboys fan. One of his favorite things was watching his kids and grandkids participate in their many sporting events.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Buchanan Jones; four children, Cheryl Cogdell and husband Marvin, Johnny Jones and wife Mona, Ricky Jones and wife Lisa, and Dina Jones; two sisters, Karen Turnbow and husband Larry of Henrietta, Opal Esquer and husband Fred; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at 9 a.m., prior to services.
