Lady Cats in third with Saturday win over Jacksboro

Lady Cats Cheyenne Barry and Sierra Burkhart block a Jacksboro attack on Saturday. Henrietta’s win over the Tigerettes puts the team in third place.

Henrietta’s Lady Cats are in position to earn a volleyball playoff berth after Saturday’s three-set sweep of Jacksboro.

The win puts the Lady Cats in position for a third place finish in District 8-2A.

Henrietta defeated Jacksboro 25-12, 25-21, 25-14.

Joyana Zamzow finished with an outstanding 10 kills, seven service aces and seven digs. Anni Scholl finished with eight kills and five digs. Addison Wade scored seven kills. Taylor Bennett and Sierra Burkhart scored six kills each. Bennett also had three aces. Annelise Sauer had 10 digs and scored four aces, while Cassie Pickett picked up five digs.

The win boosted Henrietta’s district record to 4-3. Holliday leads the district with a 7-0 record, followed by Nocona in second place with a record of 5-2.

The Lady Cats travel to Holliday on Tuesday.
