Kent Neville, emergency management coordinator for Clay County, is urging people to register for I-Info, a phone and Internet based warning system now available for area residents.
“This will allow them to receive immediate notification of emergencies such as severe weather, missing person, Hazmat spills, school closings, etc.,” said Neville.
Once the I-Info system is up and running, Clay County residents will be able to receive time-sensitive and location-specific information about emergency events and weather warnings by phone, cell phone, text messaging and e-mail.
Neville said the Clay County system will be tested sometime around Oct. 25, and hopes to have a number of residents will register before then.
