Despite two-set lead, Lady Cats fall to Jacksboro Tuesday night


Lady Cat Anni Scholl had a big night on the volleyball court in Jacksboro Tuesday, helping Henrietta hold a powerful Lady Tiger squad for five sets.

Henrietta took a two-set lead to open the match, 25-22, 25-11. Jacksboro managed to extend the match, and change the momentum of the game, with a long third set, 24-26. The Lady Tigers went on to win the fourth, 20-25, and the fifth, 12-15.

The loss drops Henrietta to 1-1 in District 8-2A play.

Scholl led the Lady Cat offense with 16 kills. On defense, the junior finished with 17 digs and two assisted blocks.

Joyana Zamzow finished with 12 kills, followed by Addison Wade with 10 kills, Sierra Burkhart with nine kills, and Taylor Bennett with seven kills and three aces. Kailey Kirk had 25 set assists and two aces, while Katie Halsell had 27 set assists.

Annelise Sauer led the Lady Cats’ defensive effort with 30 digs, followed by Cassie Pickett with 15 digs. Bennett assisted on four blocks, while Wade and Burkhart had two block assists each.

Henrietta’s JV “A” team earned a win over Jacksboro, 25-18, 22-25, 25-17. The JV “B” Lady Cats fell to Jacksboro, 6-25, 12-25.

The Lady Cats host Holliday at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 29.
