Lady Cats limit City View to single digit scoring, earn quick district win

Addison Wade leads the Lady Cat attack in game two of Henrietta’s win over City View Friday night.

Henrietta opened District 8-2A volleyball play Friday afternoon by trouncing City View with a quick three-set match, even holding the Lady Mustangs to single-digit scoring.

The Lady Cats opened with a 25-7 finish in game one, followed by wins of 25-11 and 25-12 in games two and three, respectively.

Addison Wade led the Lady Cat attack up front, scoring eight kills, but it would be Joyana Zamzow who put the most points on the board. Zamzow scored six kills and seven aces, while Anni Scholl finished with six kills and three aces. Taylor Bennett scored three kills and four aces. Sierra Burkhart added four kills. Annelise Sauer and Kailey Kirk scored two each from the service line.

At setter, Katie Halsell had 16 assists, while Kirk donated eight assists.

City View’s weak offensive effort didn’t do much for Henrietta’s defensive stats.

Taylor Burch Cassie Pickett picked up four digs each, and Sauer had three digs.

Henrietta’s JV Lady Cats defeated City View in two sets, 25-8, 25-15.

The Lady Cats continue district play in Jacksboro on Tuesday, Sept. 25. JV games begin at 4:30 p.m. Henrietta hosts Holliday on Saturday, Sept. 29, at 10 a.m.
