Grand jury indicts seven

A Clay County grand jury handed down 11 indictments to seven people and one no-bill Monday, Sept. 17.

William Tyson Sams, 51, of Henrietta, has been indicted on four counts of theft of property, more than $1,500, less than $20,000, a state jail felony, for an Aug. 20 offense. Tyson remains in custody with bond set at $25,000 bond.

Jonathan Eric Holman, 30, of Henrietta, has been indicted for burglary of a building, for a June 17 offense, and burglary of a habitation for a June 25 offense. Both charges are state jail felonies. Holman has been released on a $10,000 bond for the first offense, and $20,000 for the second offense. See related story.

Michael Edward Brothers, 40, of Henrietta, has been indicted for aggravated assault against a public servant, a first-degree felony, for an Aug. 19 offense. Brothers remains in custody with bond set at $150,000.

David Daniel Calandreli, 26, of Richmond, has been indicted for evading arrest or detention with a motor vehicle, a third-degree felony, for an Aug. 31 offense. Calandreli has been released on a $10,000 bond.

Franklin Matthew Johnson, 36, of Wichita Falls, has been indicted for driving while intoxicated with a child under 15 years of age, a state jail felony. Johnson has been released on a $5,000 bond.

Patrick Shane Welch, 30, of Petrolia, has been indicted for aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony, for a Feb. 11 offense. Welch remains in custody with bond set at $50,000.

Leland D. Whitgrove, 48, of Henrietta, has been indicted for assault of a family member, a third-degree felony, for a July 30 offense. Whitgrove has been released on a $10,000 bond.
