Zamzow aces give Lady Cats edge over Burkburnett Tuesday

Lady Cat Anni Scholl works to keep a Burkburnett tip in play at the net during the second set of Henrietta’s win over the Lady Bulldogs Tuesday night.

Joyana Zamzow collared Burkburnett’s Lady Bulldog defense from the service line Tuesday night, leading Henrietta to a win in four sets, 25-16, 25-18, 27-29, 25-14.

Zamzow scored 10 service aces, and added 10 kills to steer the Lady Cat offense. Anni Scholl led the Lady Cats on the front roll with 12 kills, followed by Taylor Bennett with nine kills and three aces, Sierra Burkhart with nine kills and Addison Wade with six kills. Katie Halsell had 22 set assists and three aces, while Kailey Kirk had 23 set assists.

Annelise Sauer led the Lady Cat defensive effort. The senior libero finished with 26 digs, followed by Cassie Pickett with 11 digs. Zamzow and Taylor Burch had seven digs each.

Henrietta’s junior varsity “A” team fell Burkbunett in two sets, 21-25, 25-27. The JV “B” Lady Cats defeated Burkburnett in three, 25-14, 20-25, 25-13.

The Lady Cats will take the weekend off for the Clay County Pioneer Reunion and Rodeo.
