Joseph Henry Turner of Byers


Joseph Henry Turner, 71, of Byers, passed away on Monday, Sept. 3, 2012, in Byers.

Memorial services will be at 10 a.m., Friday, Sept. 7, at the First United Methodist Church of Byers, with Terri Woodgrove and Don Hogan officiating.

Mr. Turner was born Aug. 5, 1941, in Channing County to H.C. and Alice (Schaffer) Turner. He married Betty Riley on Nov. 10, 1962, in Mobeetie. He was a retired principal and schoolteacher, and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Byers.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Riley Turner of Byers; two daughters, Beth Turner-Erwin and husband Rick of Byers, and Betty Joe Fox and husband Tommy of Byers; a son, Steven Turner and wife Christina of Addington, Okla.; three sisters, Patsy Grah of Illinois, Guynell Laughlin of Alaska, and Janie Byram of Florida; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
