Lady Cats defeat Vernon in three-set match


Henrietta’s varsity Lady Cats earned a win on the volleyball court Tuesday night, defeating Vernon in three sets, 25-21, 25-15, 25-18.

Joyana Zamzow led the Lady Cat offense with nine kills, followed by Sierra Burkhart with seven kills. Taylor Bennett served up seven aces. Anni Scholl gave a strong performance all around, finishing with six kills, two aces and 12 digs. In the libero position, Annelise Sauer picked up 24 digs. Cassie Pickett had 11 digs.

The JV “A” team fell to Vernon in two sets, 22-25, 20-25, while the “B” team took a three-set win, 26-24, 15-25, 25-22.

The varsity girls host Archer City and Christ Academy Saturday at 10 a.m., while Henrietta’s JV Lady Cats compete in the Windthorst tournament.
