Bearcat, Lady Cat cross country teams compete at Scout Camp

Henrietta’s varsity and junior varsity cross country teams competed in their first meet of the year Thursday at the Perkins Scout Calmp in Burkburnett.

The varsity Lady Cats finished the two-mile course in eighth place as a team. District competitors Holliday and Bowie placed first and ninth, respectively.

In the individual standings, Joyana Zamzow finished 18th to medal with a time of 15 minutes, 33 seconds. Mahalah Womack finished 33rd with 17:40. Sarah Matthews was 44th with 19:05. Brooke Hoff was 49th with 19:30, and Krystal Cook took 62nd place with 22:29.

In the varsity boys three-mile race, Henrietta’s Donavon Cook finished 34th with a time of 25:37, Levi Hedrick took 38th with 31:48, and Chris Davis was 39th with 32:23.

Henrietta’s JV girls finished third in the team standings.

Justine Loyd was the top Lady Cat, finishing 27th on the two-mile course with a time of 20:19. Casey Gill was 28th with 20:27, Sara Mayes finished 31st with 20:45, Bree Pollan was 33rd with 20:48, Macey Baber was 45th with 23:49, Courtney Pruett took 46th with 24:08, and Michaela Hedrick finished 47th with 25:57.

Henrietta’s runners will compete in the Muenster meet Saturday, Sept. 8, beginning at 8:30 a.m.
