Ronnie Ogle, 70, of Bowie, passed away Monday, Aug. 20, 2012, in Bowie.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, at the First Baptist Church of Bowie with Joe Caballero and Mike Henson officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Bowie under the direction of White Family Funeral Home of Bowie.
Mr. Ogle was born July 24, 1942 in Jacksboro to James and Millie (Deweber) Ogle. He graduated from Bellevue High School in 1960 and graduated from Texas Tech University in 1964 with a BS in animal science. He married Gloria Sparks on June 13, 1965 in Floydada. In 1966 they moved to Levelland, where he worked as a soil conservationist, and in 1970 they moved to Bowie, where he worked for Occidental Petroleum Company. In 1974 Ronnie became partners with his brother, Larry, in the ownership owned and operation of Bowie Livestock Commission until 1989. Ronnie was a representative for the Superior Livestock Auction, director for the Wise Electric Co-Op Company since 1997, and in 2008 he built Bucks and Ducks Hunting Lodge north of Bellevue.
Ronnie is survived by his wife, Gloria Ogle of Bowie; two children, Kevin Ogle and wife, Shonda of Bowie, and Deborah Mayfield of Haskell; a sister, Donna Roth and husband Linford of Bowie; a brother, Larry Ogle and wife Loneta of Bowie; and five grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6- 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22, at the funeral home.
Memorials can be made to the Hospice of Rural Texas or to a charity of choice.
