Freddie J. Carr of Buffalo Springs


Freddie J. Carr, 75, of Buffalo Springs, passed away on Monday, Aug. 20, 2012.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, at the Pleasant Mound Freewill Baptist Church in Buffalo Springs with Rev. Billy Waller, pastor, officiating. Masonic and Military burial services will be in the Joy Cemetery in under the direction of Davis Funeral Home of Henrietta.

Mr. Carr was born on April 12, 1937 in Wichita Falls to James Travis and Virginia Arminta (Stell) Carr. He served in the U.S. Army and married Kathryn Seigler on Nov. 27, 1958 in Buffalo Springs. He was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Local Union No. 68. He owned United Sheet Metal in Bowie, and retired as general manager of Culpepper Inc. A.C. and Plumbing. He was a member of the Pleasant Mound Freewill Baptist Church of Buffalo Springs, and a member of the Bluegrove Masonic Lodge No. 965.

He is preceded in death by two sisters, MaFalda Carr Wilson, and Betty Carr Tindol; and a brother, James Travis Carr, Jr.

Survivors include his wife, Kathy Carr of Buffalo Springs; two sons, Greg Carr and Vince Carr of Buffalo Springs; a sister, Patti Burgess and husband Bill of Arlington; and six grandchildren.

The family will be at Davis Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m.
