William E. “Bill” Bryant of Henrietta


William E. “Bill” Bryant, 66, of Henrietta, died Friday, July 20, 2012 in Henrietta.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, July 23 at the First United Methodist Church of Henrietta with Reverend Chris Dowd officiating. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery under the direction of Davis Funeral Home.

Mr. Bryant was born in Fort Worth on March 4, 1946 to William Smith Bryant and Docia (Hart) Bryant. He graduated from high school in Austin and attended Texas Tech University where he was an active member in Sigma Chi Fraternity. He married Karen (Kerr) Bryant on Aug. 1, 1970. She preceded him in death on April 7, 2011. He served in the Air Force reserves and began working at Kerr Feed & Grain in Henrietta in 1971. He was co-owner of the feed store business at the time of his death. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Henrietta, where he had served on the Building Committee. Bill also served on the Clay County Memorial Hospital Board.

Survivors include one daughter, Kerri Bryant Brown and husband Heath of Aubrey; one son, William Wade Bryant and wife Trish of Henrietta; a sister, Nancy Benningfield and husband John of Kerrville; a sister-in-law, Sharon Fitts and husband Jeff of Henrietta; and four grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Davis Funeral Home on Sunday, July 22 from 6:30-8 p.m.

Memorials can be given to the First United Methodist Church of Henrietta, or the Clay County Volunteer Fire Department of choice.
