Ruby Willis Kidd of Birmingham, Ala.


Ruby (Willis) Kidd, 95, formerly of Henrietta, passed away on Friday, July 20, 2012 in Birmingham, Ala.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 23 at Hope Cemetery in Henrietta with Rev. Chris Dowd, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Henrietta, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis Funeral Home of Henrietta.

Mrs. Kidd was born July 24, 1916 in Henrietta to J.L. and Sylvia (Motley) Willis. She married Henry L. Kidd July 4, 1942 in Seymour. She served in the Women’s Army Corps from 1944 to 1945. She was a retired School Teacher having taught for 25 years in the Houston ISD. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Henrietta.

Mrs. Kidd is preceded in death by her husband, Henry L. Kidd; and one sister, Mildred Goist.

Survivors include a son, Jim Kidd and wife Sherry of Birmingham, Ala.; a sister, Ruth Pearson of Kermit; two granddaughters; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Monday, July 23, from 7-8 p.m. at Davis Funeral Home.
