Howard Donald Hughes of Henrietta

Howard “Bud” Donald Hughes, Jr., 76, of Henrietta, died Friday, July 13, 2012 in Dallas.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at the Davis Funeral Home Chapel in Henrietta. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery in Henrietta, under the direction of Davis Funeral Home of Henrietta.

Mr. Hughes was born on July 13, 1936 in East Liverpool, Ohio to Howard D. and Hazel Bernice (Talbot) Hughes. He retired from the U.S. Navy with the rank of chief petty officer, serving in Vietnam. He also retired as  manager of the Albertsons Bakery in Wichita Falls. He married Judy Jackson on Feb. 24, 2001 in Henrietta.

Mr. Hughes was preceded in death by two sisters, Barbara and Lee Hughes; and one daughter, Barbara Lee Hughes.

Survivors include his wife, Judy Hughes of Henrietta; three sons, Robert Allen Hughes and wife Sara of Murphy, James Donald Hughes of Wichita Falls, and Donald William Hughes and wife Karen of Lakeside City; a daughter, Tina Hughes of Wichita Falls; five brothers, Sammie Hughes and wife Susan of Collinsville, Robert Eugene Hughes and wife Billi of Arlington, Rick Hughes and wife Jeri of Pennsylvania, Jack Hughes of Richmond, Va., and Tommy Hughes and wife Jan of Nazareth, Pa.; and 10 grandchildren.

The family will be at Davis Funeral Home on Monday, July 16 from 7-8 p.m.

Memorials can be made to the Bucky Boyd VFW Post in Henrietta.
