Mary Louise Short of Houston


Mary Louise Short, 89, of Houston, formerly of Henrietta, passed away on Thursday, June 28, 2012 in Houston.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 3, at the First United Methodist Church of Henrietta with Rev. Valerie Mireb officiating and Rev. Chris Dowd, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Henrietta, assisting. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery in Henrietta under the direction of Davis Funeral Home.

Mrs. Short was born on March 2, 1923 in Deer Creek to Sam P. and Delphia F. (Callaway) Brown. She was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Henrietta. She was a member of the VFW Women’s Auxilary and a volunteer for the Clay County Pioneer Reunion.

She is preceded in death by her husband, James Short; and one grandson, James Short.

Survivors include two sons, Keith Short and wife Lana of Houston, and Ken Short and wife Carol of Dallas; one grandson; two granddaughters; four great-grandsons; and one great-granddaughter.
