Raymond Terry of Bowie


Raymond Terry, 77, of Bowie passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2012, in Bowie.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 22 at the Lighthouse Assembly of God Church in Bowie with Justin Harris and Mickey Terry officiating. Burial will follow at Ringgold Cemetery under the direction of White Family Funeral Home of Bowie.

Mr. Terry was born March 3, 1935 in Ringgold to Ferman and Nora (DeMoss) Terry. He attended Barber College in Fort Worth. He worked at Harbison and Fischer Oilfield Company in Fort Worth and at Bowie Industries, Inc. for more than 30 years. He was an evangelist for various churches in Texas and Oklahoma. He was an avid hunter and fisher.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Elsina Terry; a son, Bo Terry; a grandson, Phillip David Terry; two brothers, Wayne Terry and J.C. Terry; and two sisters, Alvilda Eldridge and Doris Blevins.

He is survived by four children, Jimmy Terry and wife Carolyn Sue of Bowie, Rex Terry and wife Linda of Springtown, Mickey Terry and wife Selena of Bowie, and Bobby Terry and wife Cinny of Bellevue; 14 grandchildren; and 22 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, June 21, at White Family Funeral Home.
