Joseph Frank ‘Joe’ Lambert, 90, of Vernon, died June 16, 2012.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 19 at Sullivan Funeral Home Chapel in Vernon, with Rev. Scott Arant officiating. Burial will be at Wilbarger Memorial Park under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.
Mr. Lambert was born May 21, 1922 in Durant, Okla. to Oad Lambert and the Molly (Forehand) Lambert. He married Lavelle Duncan on June 19, 1999 in Ft. Worth. He had lived in Vernon since 1926. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII, in the air offensive of Europe. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was owner of Lambert Trucking and Lambert Used Cars, Paint and Body Shop. He was a member of Second Baptist Church of Vernon.
He is preceded in death by a sister, Wilma Mitchell; and a brother, Laudy Lambert.
He is survived by his wife, Lavelle Lambert of the home; two sons, Eddy Lambert of Vernon, and Kent Alan Lambert of Windell, N.C.; two brothers, Pat Lambert of Vernon, and Sid Lambert of Lake Arrowhead; and two grandchildren.
