Edward Nix of Iowa Park


Edward Nix, 87, of Iowa Park, passed away Monday, June 18, 2012.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, June 21 at City View Baptist Church with Rev. Mickey Miller officiating. Burial will at Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Owens & Brumley of Wichita Falls.

Mr. Nix was born Nov.13, 1924 in Caney, Okla. to T.F. and Alice M. (Samples) Nix. He retired from Levi Straus where he worked as a cutter for 30 years.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Helen Nix; a brother, Trannie Nix; and two sisters, Fannie Nix Emmons, and Bessie Nix Laudermilk.

He is survived by three daughters, Tressa Ann Nix Boyd and Billy Nunley of Iowa Park, Gayla Dawn Nix Scoughton and husband Jim of Lake Arrowhead, and Alana “Lana” kaLynn Nix of Iowa Park; a son, Russell Edward Nix and wife Stacey of Wichita Falls; nine grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at Owens & Brumley Funeral Home in Wichita Falls.
