Youth participate in summer reading arts and crafts program


More than 30 children participated in the Edwards Public Library's arts and crafts program Wednesday.

Edwards Public Library’s Texas Summer Reading Club allowed readers to get creative Wednesday, June 6, with an arts and crafts program.

More than 30 children participated in the arts and crafts program and 16 adults assisted.  They were able to make five different crafts, including CD spinners, utilizing old CDs, bottle caps and a marble; “Button Beings” utilizing buttons, beads and pipe cleaners; button and ribbon bookmarks utilizing buttons and ribbons; a rain stick, utilizing paper towel rolls, aluminum foil, aquarium gravel and paper; and bracelets utilizing assorted beads and pipe cleaners.  All those in attendance were able to take crafts home to enjoy.

The Edwards Public Library’s 2010 Texas Summer Reading Club is in full swing, as of Monday, June 11, more than 100 readers had signed up.
