Byers ISD to dispose of unnecessary, non-valuable items

As a part of its consolidation agreement with Petrolia, Byers ISD will dispose of items located in the facilities that are unnecessary or have no value.

Items will be disposed of by sealed bid on Thursday. Items can be viewed and bids submitted between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. in the Byers ISD Auditorium. Bids will be unsealed and items removed at 12:01 p.m.

Items will include old basketball jerseys, overhead projectors and other classroom equipment, old computers and a limited amount of shop equipment.

No school trophies or historical memorabilia will be sold.

“This is not to raise money,” said Supt. Kim Childs, “but more for anyone who might have some attachment to it.”

Childs said this will not be the last chance for residents to have a piece of the school. Anything that is left will go to the City of Byers, which could hold an auction at a later date.
