Twist on Goldilocks “rocks” first session of summer reading program

Sandy Shrout presents "Goldyrocks and the Three Dinosaurs" as a part of the Edwards Public Library Summer Reading Program Wednesday, May 30.

On Wednesday, May 30, at the Holman Center in Henrietta, the Edwards Public Library presented “Sandy Shrout and Friends: Goldyrocks and the Three Dinosaurs,” for the 2012 Texas Summer Reading Club “Get a Clue…at the Library!”

The program was a Shrout’s rendition of “Goldilocks and the Three Bears,” but with a pre-historic twist.  She kept everyone entertained and included audience participation.  There were 75 children and 23 adults in attendance.  Funding for all the 2012 Texas Summer Reading Club was provided by the Third Annual Lyndon Laseman Fun Run.

The 2012 Texas Summer Reading Club has 76 readers signed up and there are more signing up every day.  Edwards Public Library encourages all of the children of Clay County to sign up for the summer reading club.

The next performer will be Magician Gerald Edmundson, presenting “Reading is Magic,” at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 13, at the Holman Center.  For more information call Edwards Public Library at (940) 538-4791, or come by.
