Kiwanis has successful season

Dear Editor:

Kudos to the Henrietta Kiwanis Club.  They pulled off another successful Little League baseball/softball season.  From the outside looking in, the process of putting on such a tremendous league may look easy, but as a Kiwanis member myself, I can tell you this is not the case.

Countless volunteer hours are put in months in advance of the first pitch on opening day in April.  The Club really does an amazing job.  These efforts are coordinated by past club president and current commissioner, Brad Yurcho.  He is assisted by a committee of parents and coaches who help make sure that youth in our area of the county have an organized way to play the game of baseball.  We are so very fortunate to have the high quality of program here in Clay County.  Please help by showing your support as community members so we can enhance Little League to reach even more youth in our area.  One of the ways you can do this is by joining us at Kiwanis’ weekly club meetings held each Thursday from noon-1 p.m. at the Senior Citzens Center.

To conclude, I feel that there are many people deserving of praise at a time like this.  It is refreshing to get to be a part of something so great that people from surrounding cities comment positively about our program, the facilities at Hapgood Park, and the overall volunteer commitment they witness with Little League.  My hats off also to the City of Henrietta and specifically to all park department employees for providing beautifully maintained areas and groomed fields.  We sure couldn’t have done it without all your hard work.
