Katie Coleman, a senior at Henrietta High School, received the Ray Mayo Memorial Scholarship Sunday, May 20, at the Texoma Cowboy Church in Wichita Falls.

The scholarship was presented by his wife Patsy Mayo and family. The scholarship focused on an essay about a person that inspired Coleman in the western heritage.

Ray Mayo had a deep passion for the great American cowboy, whether that be the rodeo cowboy or the ranching cowboy. Mayo was born and raised on a cattle ranch in North Texas and he was well known for his many generous donations made to the Texas Ranch Roundup as well as the North Texas Rehab Center.
