With a 2-1 win over Seymour Thursday night, Petorlia’s Lady Pirates need only one more for a berth to the state softball tournament. The opportunity will come Saturday in Graham.
Petrolia’s Katie Cummings earned the win on a pitcher’s duel with Seymour’s Carol Swindell. Both teams remained scoreless through four innings.
In the fifth, Allie Ablia doubled and Sidney Mobley followed with a bunt single. Wild pitches allowed both runners to score.
Petrolia gave up one run in the sixth.
Petrolia and Seymour had six hits each.
Petrolia Continues play in the Region I Class A final Saturday at 2 p.m. Game 3, if needed, will began 30 minutes after the end of game 2.
