Clay County seniors set to take the stage


With the senior class of 2012 ready to receive their high school diplomas, Clay County schools are gearing up for the annual Pomp and Circumstance. Baccalaureate services are scheduled for Sunday, May 20. Graduation ceremonies will be held Friday, May 25, Saturday, May 26, and Saturday June 2.


Baccalaureate at Bellevue will begin at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the Bellevue School Auditorium. Bud Branson, minister at the Bellevue Church of Christ, will give the message.

Graduation is set for Friday, May 25, at 7 p.m. in the school auditorium. The speaker will be Amy James.


Byers School will hold its final Baccalaureate service Sunday. The service begins at 7 p.m. at the school with a sermon from John Curry of the Byers Assembly of God.

Graduation is scheduled for 8 p.m. Friday, May 25, at the school. Judy Wade, who has been a teacher at BISD for 40 years, will be the guest speaker.


Baccalaureate service at Henrietta High School will begin at 7:30 p.m. Sunday in the Tyra Roper Auditorium. Rev. Chris Dowd, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Henrietta, will be the speaker. A reception hosted by the Henrietta Ministerial Alliance will follow the service, where senior scrapbooks will be on display.

To begin the service, Alicia Eggleston and Ivy Noack will give the welcome, and Ryan Crafton will introduce the speaker. Rev. Howard Walker, pastor of the First Christian Church of Henrietta, will give the invocation, and Mike Priddy will give the benediction.

Graduation will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, May 26, at Memorial Auditorium in Wichita Falls.


Baccalaureate service for Midway ISD will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Joy Baptist Church.

Graduation will be at 7 p.m. Friday, May 25, in Midway’s John Guice Gymnasium.


Petrolia will hold Baccalaureate at 7 p.m. Sunday in the Petrolia High School Auditorium. The Byers Assembly of God, First Baptist Church of Dean, First Baptist Church of Petrolia and Western Heritage Christian Church of Dean will host the service.

Pastor Shawn Bitner, First Baptist Church of Dean, will be the speaker. Senior Troy Merito will give the welcome, followed by the invocation, given by senior BreAnna Bustos. Senior Jeffery Millsap will read Scripture, and senior John Coker will give the benediction, followed by closing statements from senior Kaylee Kenyon.

Bradon Dunn and Wendy Coker of the Western Heritage Christian Church will lead the music.

Ushers will be Allie Ablia, Mallory Rindinger, Alyssa Wesley, Tyler Tucker, Joe Don Brock and Simeon Trevino.

A meal, provided by the Byers Assembly of God and the First Baptist Church of Petrolia, will be served to select guests prior to the service.

Graduation will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 2, in the high school auditorium.

A graduation video, prepared by seniors Brittany Benham and Marissa Harrison, will play prior to the commencement exercise. Special music will be provided by Kim Williams. Senior Scott Ramsey will give the welcome, followed by the invocation by Marissa Harrison and the Pledge of Allegiance, led by senior Jamie Kowalick. Benediction will be given by senior Taylor Whitehead, followed by closing comments from senior Bonnie Jo Holloway.

Awards will be presented by Emily Gravitt. Todd Anderson will present diplomas.
