Freddie Kennedy, 71, of Arrowhead Ranch Estates, died May 7, 2012.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 10, in the chapel of Owens and Brumley Funeral with Pastor Randal Searcy officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Owens and Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.

Mr. Kennedy was born on Jan.19, 1941, in Wichita Falls to James and Ruth Kennedy. He graduated from Wichita Falls High School in 1959. He attended North Texas State University and Midwestern University. He married Jackie Sims in in Wichita Falls on May 27, 1961. He started working at Parker’s Grocery while in high school. In 1965 he started a new career in the oil exploration business and relocated to Dallas. He worked in California, Alaska, South America, Colorado and Canada.

Freddie is survived by his wife, Jackie Kennedy of Arrowhead Ranch Estates; parents James and Ruth Kennedy of Wichita Falls; two brothers, Jimmy Kennedy and wife Cynthia of Fort Worth, and Gary Kennedy and wife Cheri of Mesquite ;a daughter, Kerry Berend and husband Billy of Loving; a son, Freddie “Blu” Kennedy, Jr., and wife Shannon of Wichita Falls; and three grandchildren.

The family will be at Owens and Brumley Funeral Home from 7- 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 9.
