Robert Wilson of Joy


Robert Wilson, 78, of Joy, passed away on Tuesday, May 01, 2012 in Henrietta.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, May 3 in the Bluegrove Cemetery in Bluegrove, with Mr. B.D. Wynn, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis Funeral Home of Henrietta.

Mr. Wilson was born on May 3, 1933 in Deer Creek to John Gordon and Elisabeth (Smith) Wilson. He married Mary Dillard on Aug. 11, 1957 in Wichita Falls. He was a member of the Joy Baptist Church. He was a retired farmer and rancher. He was a past member of the Midway School Board and an honorary member of the Midway FFA.

Mr. Wilson is preceded in death by two brothers, J.G. Wilson and Elbert Wilson; and two sisters, Hestalene Buroughs and Doris Burger.

Survivors include wife Mary Wilson of Joy; two sons, Steve Wilson and wife Virginia of Joy, and Randy Wilson and wife Wendy of Dean; one brother, Graham Wilson and wife Bobbie of Henrietta; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The family will be at Davis Funeral Home from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 2.
