Agnes Moore of Vashti


Vollie Agnes Watkins Moore, 81, of Vashti, passed away May 1, 2012, at her home.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 5, at the Vashti Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Vashti Cemetery under the direction if Heritage Family Funeral Home of Bowie.

Mrs. Moore was born Aug. 8, 1930, in Fredrick, Okla., to Lucas Clell and Ione Elizabeth (Ridenour) Watkins. She was the second of five

sisters. She graduated from Bowie High School in 1948, and married Joe Bert Moore of Vashti on March 5, 1953. She was a helpmate, and homemaker who enjoyed cooking, sewing, quilting and crochet. She lived her entire adult life on the Moore family farm south of Vashti.

Survivors include by two sons, Michael Lee Moore and wife LaFonda, and Joseph E. (Buddy) Moore and wife Brenda, all of Bellevue; two daughters, Ola Elizabeth Moore and Mary Laine Moore Kollman, both of Bowie; three sisters, Louise Lee and Lucille Stephens, both of Decatur, and Bettie Wylie of Arlington; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The family will be at Heritage Family Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, May 4.
