Booher qualifies for state in long jump with first place finish


Bearcat Kolten Booher earned a gold medal in long jump at the Region II track and field meet Friday.

Henrietta’s Kolten Booher took first place in long jump at the Regional track meet Friday, earning a trip to Austin for the state track meet.

Booher finished the event with 22 feet, 7 inches. It was his personal best.

The state track meet is set for May 11-12 at Mike A. Myers Stadium at the University of Texas.

Booher placed sixth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.30 seconds, and 13th in triple jump with best of 41-3/4.Timmy Duke finished sixth in the 110 hurdles with a time of 16.35, and eight in the 300 hurdles with 41.74. He finished 14th in long jump with 20-3.

Parker West finished sixth in shot put with a throw of 44-5, and 14th in disucs with 118-04.

In the Region II girls competition, Joyana Zamzow finished eighth in triple jump with 34-2 1/2. Sierra Burkhart placed 20th  in high jump, clearing 4-8.
