WWII vet visits students

Midway students Josh Fulbright, Jacob Blevins, Rachael Keener, Kelli Forester, Breanna Merkel, Brent Jones and Alan Self with guest Lawrence Hogan.

Lawrence Hogan came to Midway schools to talk to students about his World War II experiences.

Hogan spent most of the day visiting with the students in small groups and ate with the staff during lunch.  Principal John Jones presented a certificate that commended Hogan for the service to his country and a small token of Midway’s appreciation for Hogan giving of his time visiting with our school.

Hogan captivated the young audience with his experiences in Europe during World War II.  He showed the students his many decorations and showed the students a book that gave documentation and pictures of the unit that he served in.

“We would like to give our heartfelt thanks to Mr. Hogan for his service for our country and for taking the time to visit with us and share with us his experiences,” Jones said.
