Quilt raffle to benefit county volunteer fire departments

Clay County TEEA has constructed a Cathedral Window queen-size quilt to benefit the 12 volunteer fire departments in Clay County.

The windows are made of beige and dark blue cotton prints. The club has spent more than 2,000 hours constructing the quilt and hope to benefit each of the dozen fire departments with $1,000.

Club members have sweetened the benefit with five Texas-themed gift baskets retail valued at $200 each. Baskets contain Texas made or themed products. Some of the items are one of a kind or hand made.

TEEA members are offering Six hundred donation tickets for $20 each. The odds of helping a county fire department are 100 percent with purchase of one or more of the donation tickets. Odds of winning one of the six benefit items are one in 600 for each ticket. The drawing will take place when all 600 tickets are purchased or on Jan. 1.

Tickets can be purchased from TEEA members or at the Texas AgriLife Extension Office, located at 210 W. Ikard St. in Henrietta, for more information, contact the Extension Office at (940) 538-5042.

Watch for quilt and basket displays at upcoming county and community events.
