Bobby Hatfield of Bellevue

Bobby Gene Hatfield, 77, of Bellevue, passed away on Thursday, April 19, 2012 in Henrietta.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 21, at the Vashti Baptist Church in Vashti, with Bobby Pounds officiating. Burial will be in the Vashti Cemetery under the direction of Davis Funeral Home of Henrietta.

Mr. Hatfield was born on March 6, 1935 in Montague County to Albert and Goldie (Masten) Hatfield. He was raised in the Halsell Community and attended Halsell and Henrietta schools. He married Betty Jo Moore on Jan. 17, 1957 in Bellevue. Mr. Hatfield was a cowboy and rancher who worked at Kerr Feed and Grain, Waggoner, Pullen, Hodges and Perry Johns Ranches. He was employed by the Robert Lee Martin Ranch. Mr. Hatfield served on the Bellevue City Council for 32 years and the Clay County Pioneer Association for 30 years as the grand entry gatekeeper.

Mr. Hatfield is preceded in death by one brother, Donald Hatfield.

Survivors include his wife Betty Jo Hatfield of the home; two sons, Bob Hatfield and wife Dahl of Henrietta, and Reggie Hatfield and wife Tammy of Guthrie; one daughter, Juhree Vaughn and husband Travis of Windthorst; four sisters, Helen Harris, Inez Adams, Geraldine Hatfield and Patsy Cartwright; two brothers, Willie and Jimmy Hatfield; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

The family will be at Davis Funeral Home on Friday, April 20, from 6:30-7:30 p.m.

The family requests that memorials be made to the Clay County Pioneer Association at P.O. Box 4, Henrietta, Texas 76365.
