Four indicted on charges Monday


Four indictments were handed down by a Clay County grand jury Monday, April 16. One indictment, for aggravated sexual assault of a child, is sealed.

Nolan Sylvir Kerry has been indicted for deadly conduct, discharge of a firearm, a third-degree felony, for a Jan. 30 offense. Kerry is accused of shooting an occupied vehicle.

Juan Gilbert Martinez has been indicted on one charge of driving while intoxicate, third offense or more, a third-degree felony, for a March 19, 2011 offense. Martinez was convicted of driving while intoxicated in Richmond County, Ga., on Sept. 9, 1992, and in Wheeler County, Texas, on July 20, 1995.

Shawn David Whaley has been indicted on one count of evading arrest or detention with a vehicle, a third-degree felony, for a March 23 offense. Whaley is accused intentionally fleeing from a DPS Trooper.
