Rose Wiist Butler of Sherman


Rose Mae Wiist Butler, 84, of Sherman, passed away Sunday, April 8, 2012, in Sherman.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 13 at Hope Cemetery in Henrietta with Glenn Reagan Officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home of Sherman.

Mrs. Butler was born Jan. 1, 1928, in the Ikard Community to Peter and Christine (Hoerth) Wiist. She was one of 12 children. She attended and graduated from Henrietta Public Schools. She married Charles Butler on June 1, 1946, in Henrietta. She was a homemaker.

She is preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters.

She is survived by two sons, James Bruce Butler and wife, Kathryn of Sherman, Capt. Charles L. Butler, US Navy retired, and wife, Mary Rose of Annandale, Va.; A sister, Freda Musick of Amarillo; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
