Elsie Darliene Carey of Wichita Falls


Elsie Darliene Carey, 67, of Wichita Falls, passed away on Sunday, April 1, 2012 in Wichita Falls.

Private family services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis Funeral Home of Henrietta.

Mrs. Carey was born on Feb. 18, 1945, in Plainview, to Hinton Lee and Nina Odessa (Gibson) Vick. She married James C. Carey on Jan. 28, 1982 in Wichita Falls, and was a member of the Full Gospel Powerhouse Church of God in Christ in Wichita Falls. She had worked in food service at the Wichita Falls State Hospital and had been a manager at K-Mart.

She is preceded in death by one sister, Sue Henson.

Mrs. Carey is survived by her husband, James G. Carey of Wichita Falls; one daughter, Teresa Deann (Gibson) Smoke of Wichita Falls; a brother, Billy Vick of Trinity; five sisters, Rodessa Doris of San Angelo, Faye Harlin of Plainview, Genevia Lee of Whitney, Carolyn Tackitt of Hereford, and Dell Kendrix of Lubbock; and four grandchildren.
