Hunter spotlight: Ken Cobb, ‘Huntin’ the World… Southern Style

Ken Cobb, Huntin' the World… Southern Style

“Bears, boars, birds, bucks… Southern boys in camo trucks!”

The first line the website of “Huntin’ the World… Southern Style” fits this outdoors show to a “T”, and so does it’s host, Ken Cobb.

Cobb is no stranger to Clay County, or its Rio Grande Turkey population. This year, he returns for the sixth annual Turkey Fest.

“Huntin’ The World… Southern Style”, airs 52 weeks per year on The Outdoor Channel. In fact, “Huntin’ The World… Southern Style” is one of only a handful of shows to air year-round.

Cobb lives in South Carolina, but travels the globe to film his show. His specialty is bow-hunting whitetails – he shoots his bow more than 1,000 timers per year – but he is also an expert turkey hunter with more than 100 kills under his belt.

His favorite places include locales in North Dakota, Montana, Kansas, Iowa, Illinois, Kentucky, Virginia, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, and, of course, Texas. You can also find him on hunts north and south of the borders.

Those attending Saturday night’s Full Strut Banquet will have a chance to win a turkey hunt with Cobb in a live auction.

Cobb has been a part of Turkey Fest since the second annual event in 2008, and has had great success for him and with auction winners.

Clay County’s turkey hunting, as well as the graciousness of the locals keep him coming back year after year.
