March is National Social Worker Month

By Ashley Crownover

Henrietta Care Center had a St. Patrick’s Day Party Friday, March 16, at 3 p.m. The party was full of excitement! We decorated our dining room with clovers and leprechauns and other seasonal décor the week prior to the party to get in the St. Patrick’s Day spirit in the days prior to the party. On Friday, we all enjoyed delicious angel food cake with green sherbet and Sprite.  Exciting St. Patrick’s Day word games followed the refreshments. Everyone involved really had a great time. We hope that those of you who still have not experienced a celebration at HCC make time to do so soon. We also would like to remind all of you that have been to HCC for one of our parties that we would love to have you join us again.

March is National Social Worker Appreciation Month, and we are very pleased with our social worker, Lorri-Anne Stanton. She does a wonderful job for our home as well as Nocona Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Social work is a job for special people with hearts of gold, and Lorri is truly one of these people. We are also very thankful for all of the wonderful social workers at the hospital in Henrietta and at the surrounding hospitals. We enjoy working with each of you.

Our residents enjoy our routine daily activities. We exercise every weekday morning at 9:30 to start our busy activity-filled day. We have a Bingo game with popcorn every Tuesday and Friday morning at 10. Most days we have coffee hour at 11 which is always followed by lunch at noon. Every Wednesday, the residents get together to read the Clay County Leader. Everyone really enjoys all of these set activities as well as the other various activities that we plan monthly. You can find a calendar of events on our Facebook page if you would like to know more specific details of our daily agenda.

Congratulations to Paula Koetter, ADON, for being named our Employee of the Month for March and to Dee Dee Wofford, Restorative CNA, for being named our Care Provider of the Month for March. Both of these ladies are very deserving of the award they received. We are very fortunate to have such wonderful employees at Henrietta Care Center. Thank you to both of you as well as the rest of our staff for all that you do to make HCC such a brilliant place.

Thank you to our readers for keeping up with the events, announcements, and activities at HCC. Have a wonderful week!
