‘Bon Appetite’ to cover French cooking

Clay County’s Family and Consumer Sciences Committee and the Texas AgriLife Extension Service of Clay County have scheduled an exciting cooking program “Bon Appetite” for Tuesday, April 10, from 6 -7:30 p.m. at the Saint Mary’s Catholic Church Parish Hall, 105 S. Barrett Street, Henrietta.  This fun interactive program will be presented by Jan Slagle.

Slagle has always loved to cook and read cookbooks but did not always have the chance to experiment with new recipes.  But after her children grew older she began experimenting with new and different foods.  In the last 10 years, Slagle has seriously started to research a variety of food, searching the origin of different cuisine and the methods of preparing those foods.  She has no formal training as a Chef but she describes her training as a “try & fail” method.  She has tried out many recipes on her family and friends, some were a success and some were a failure.

But there will be no failure at the “Bon Appetite” French Cuisine Program with a limited seating of 30 people.  The complete cost to each person is $25.00, which will include an appetizer, starter, entrée, beverage and dessert along with the entertaining program.

Call (940) 538-5042 to reserve a seat, or come by the extension office at 210 W. Ikard, Street, Suite B, Henrietta, Texas 76365.  All tickets must be purchased by Monday, April 2.  Those interested in more than just watching the program and would like to have a hands on experience by helping as a sous chef for the program call and visit with Sherri Halsell, County Extension Agent – Family & Consumer Sciences.
