‘Dinner Tonight’ food group offers healthy meal planning

By Sherri Halsell
Texas AgriLife Agent

The Dinner Tonight concept was created in 2008 with a team of East Region Texas AgriLife Extension Agents who were interested in expanding outreach opportunities through technology.

Each Monday, a video demonstration, featuring a quick and healthy recipe is released for the public to view.  The demonstration recipes are cost effective, easy to prepare and fit into a healthy meal plan.

These recipes fit perfectly into the busy person’s lifestyle who still wants to make time for meal preparation and feel good about what they are feeding themselves and their family.  Our goals are to promote family mealtime, teach families healthy meal planning and food preparation techniques, and promote Texas agriculture.

To sign up to be a Dinner Tonight Groupie email Sherri Halsell, Texas AgriLife Extension Service Clay County with your request at swhalsell@ag.tamu.edu or call the extension office at  538-5042.  Sherri will email you each week with a new demonstration.  In addition, participants will receive a nutrition newsletter by e-mail.
