Byers Women’s Club plans bake sale


Byers Women’s Club met at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 14, in the Byers Community Center. President Tina Van Deventer called the meeting to order followed by prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance led by Nell Schaffner. Secretary Kathy Westmoreland called roll and read the minutes of the February meeting. A short business meeting included discussion of the upcoming bake sale and a basket to be raffled at June Fest.
After adjornment, members boarded a van and took a trip to Henrietta Care Center where they sang, passed out Valentines, and visited with residents. Afterwards they enjoyed lunch at Shenki’s Juice Cafe. Those present were Jonnie Barnhill, Carol Hale, Peggy Holderness, Janice Jones, Pat Lawrence, Allene Schaffner, Nell Schaffner, Tena Van Deventer, and Kathy Westmoreland.
The next meeting will be the club’s annual bake sale beginning at 8 a.m. Friday, March 16, at the Byers Community Center. Lots of homemade goodies will be available.
