Henrietta Care Center had many wonderful volunteers throughout the month of February. We are so blessed to have people come in on a regular basis to help make our residents smile. Thank you to each of you.

The Byers Women’s Club came out on Valentine’s Day and led a sing-along. Thank you to Allene Scaffner, Ava Lou Holmes, Carol Hale, Doris Burris, Janice Jones, Jonnie Barnhill, Judy Wade, Kathy Westmoreland, Nell Scaffner, Pat Lawrence, Peggy Holderness, Ten Van Doventer, Toni Fansen and Wanda Jean Elrod. Thanks to each and every one of you for the beautiful Valentine’s Day cards.

Thank you to Betty Jacobson for help with the afternoon Valentine party as well as the Mardi Gras party. Without you, the parties would not have been as fun or successful. You were such a great help, and we are very thankful to have you as a volunteer in our facility.

Kathy Steele and Sue Oxford call Bingo numbers for us, and we greatly appreciate the time they spend with us. This gives Vicki time to complete her one-on-one visits and paperwork, and the residents enjoy you both being here.

Skyler, Chance, Presto, and Tyler, we missed you the past two weeks. We appreciate your understanding, and we are so excited to have you back this week. You are such a great joy to our residents!

The resident birthday party is always a great success with the freshly baked homemade cakes and cobblers, thanks to Phyllis Polvado and Linda Rhodes. We also really enjoy the music by Nona Byrd. You all make this party even more special than it would be without you. The residents also enjoy their corsages from Henrietta Floral. Thanks to all of you.

To those of you that play piano or guitar and/or sing, please consider donating an hour of your time once or twice weekly to our residents. Musical ability is a God-given talent, and we love when people share that talent with us. Thank you to everyone who already comes out, and thanks in advance to any new volunteers that we may receive. You will be blessed for all you do.

We look forward to a new activity. Alice McEntee is planning a readers’ group to meet on Thursdays at 1 p.m. She will be reading biographies. If anyone in the community would like to stop by, you are absolutely welcome to join us.

God has truly blessed us by sending Jane and Sarah every Wednesday for nail care and table talk as well as every Friday for devotion and gifts. Thanks to you both.

Without the help of our churches, the lives of the residents at HCC would not be so blessed. Thank you for adding so much to our daily lives. We need you in our lives, and we appreciate everyone who contributes to our church services. A special thank you goes out to the Church of Christ for leading Sunday school each week, Henrietta Grace Temple for this week’s church services, and to the Cowboy Church for afternoon music.

The Clay County Leader is very much appreciated by the residents. They are really excited each Wednesday when the papers arrive. Most of our residents were raised in Henrietta or have lived here for many years, so they really enjoy being up to keep up with the news and current events in the community.

March will be here before we know it. We have our March activities calendar completed, and we would love for you to stop by this month to visit us. The calendar is posted on our Facebook page. Also, feel free to stop by Henrietta Care Center to get a hard copy of the calendar. When you are here, you can find Vickie and plan when you can stop by and help us celebrate any of our special parties. We are always very grateful!

Have a great week.
