Dessie Coleman of Henrietta


Dessie Coleman, 92, of Henrietta, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2012 in Tyler.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Friday, Feb. 24, at the First Christian Church in Henrietta with Rev. Howard Walker, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery in Henrietta under the direction of Davis Funeral Home of Henrietta.

Mrs. Coleman was born June 29, 1919 in Markley to James Sidney and Epsie (Havens) Sensibaugh. She married Carl Bee Coleman Oct. 20, 1945 in Henrietta. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Christian Church of Henrietta. She and husband Carl were honored by the Clay County Pioneer Reunion Association as the oldest married couple in 2010 for 65 years of marriage.

She is preceded in death by her husband Carl Coleman; and two sisters, Vaughan Phillips and Ruth Stringer.

Survivors include two daughters, Cindy Rivers and husband Don of Tyler, and Melody Jennings and husband Billy of Wichita Falls; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, at Davis funeral Home in Henrietta.
