Rosy Marie (Adams) Brown-Walker, 95, of Wichita Falls, passed away Monday, Feb. 20, 2012, in Wichita Falls.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 23, in the chapel of Owens and Brumley Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Redding officiating. Burial will follow at Whitehill Cemetery south of Jolly. Arrangements are under the direction of Owens and Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.
Mrs. Walker was born Nov. 21, 1916, in Bowie County, to Robert Monroe and Mary Frances (Langford) Adams. The family moved to Clay County in 1922, where she spent her early years. She married Robert Jackson Brown on Oct. 7, 1933, in Henrietta. They lived on the family farm in the Rock Springs Community for many years before moving to Wichita Falls where they were owners-operators of the former Dinner Bell Cafe on old Hwy. 287. She also worked for, and retired from, Sprague Electric in 1981, as well as other local businesses. She was a member of Woodhaven Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by 12 siblings and their spouses; her first husband, Robert J. Brown; infant son, Samuel Glenn Brown; a daughter, Betty Jane Brown-Allsup; and her second husband, Grady L. Walker.
Survivors include sons Robert B. Brown and wife Paula of Henrietta, and Michael D. Brown of Wichita Falls; son-in-law, Howard A. Allsup, of Dixon, Tenn.; daughters, Joann B. Bennett of Wichita, Kan., Martha L. Tucker and husband Don of WIchita Falls, Peggy Albano and husband Carmine of Wichita Falls, Virginia L. Brown of Wichita Falls, Mary Sue Drake and husband Glenn of Burkburnett, Faye Brechtel and husband Charlie of Crosby, Kay Aubert and husband Steve of McLoud, Okla., Robin L. Bunch of Henrietta; stepsons Doyce Walker and wife Linda of Clinton, Okla., Loy Walker and wife Virginia of Wichita Falls, Darrell Walker and wife Carol of Wichita Falls, and Lanny Walker and wife Brenda of Wichita Falls; sister, Juanita F. Campbell of Wichita Falls; brother Billy R. Adams of Henrietta; 30 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; and 35 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 7-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 22, at Owens and Brumley Funeral Home in Wichita Falls.
