A Clay County grand jury handed down seven indictments Tuesday, Feb. 21.
Stephanie LeeAnn Heaston-Corral has been indicted on two counts of tampering with physical evidence. The first count, for concealing a human corpse in an effort to cover up a murder that occurred on FM 2332, south of Petrolia, on July 25, 2007, is a second-degree felony. The second count is for cleaning up evidence at the location where the murder occurred, is a third-degree felony.
Three indictments, each connected to the 2007 crime, were sealed.
Austin James Hager was indicted on two charges: Theft of a firearm, a state jail felony, and tampering with or fabrication physical evidence, a third degree felony. Hager is accused of an offense on Jan. 3, in which it is believed he stole a firearm, then attempted to cover up the evidence.
Toby Andrew Prater has been indicted for driving while intoxicated, third offense, a third-degree felony. Prater is believed to have driven under the influence of alcohol and a controlled substance on July 24, 2011. Prater has DWI convictions in Hayes and Comal Counties.
