Lady Pirates fall to Munday in bidistrict round


In a bid for a bidistrict title, Petrolia’s Lady Pirates fell to Munday in Iowa Park Tuesday night, 58-50.

With a 10-all tie coming into the second quarter, Munday lit up the board, scoring 18 for a 28-19 lead at intermission. Petrolia came back, and by the end third found itself within one point of overcoming the Mogulettes, 38-37. Muday scored20 in the fourth, while Petrolia was held to 13.

Kirsten Kenyon led the Lady Pirates with 18 points, followed by Danica Bustos with 13 and Katie Cummings with 11. Allie Ablia scored five points, Alaina Anderson scored two and Alyssa Wesley added one.

The Lady Pirates hit nine of 20 free throw attempts, while Munday was accurate on 10 of 25 attempts.
